WWWE Logo document tree

A document tree is the structure of all files and directories underneath a given document root. For an example of a directory tree, look at a Macintosh or PC Windows file management utility. Often these operating systems use a directory tree to present the layout if a drive in an easy to use and understand graphical display.

Using a document tree to plan out a directory structure for an FTP or Web site will help you organize the files so users can easily access the information.
